Antique 1700's wooden mortar hand carved primitive jug vase with human figures
$350.00
Instead of the usual decorative vase, this one-piece vessel offers the raw, sculptural presence of an antique 1700's wooden piece. mortar hand carved from a single large chunk of wood, it bears carved human figures and a centuries-old patina that reads like a quiet piece of history. Its narrow, shallow opening, sturdy heavy form, and rough-hewn surface suggest working use and authentic age—circa 17th/18th century and all original with wear consistent with long service.
• one-piece wooden vessel hand carved from a single block, rough and primitive in execution.
• measurements: approx. 12" tall x 6.5" wide x 25" widest diameter; opening approx. 10" deep x 3" wide.
• notable features: carved human figures, great texture, centuries-old patina, sturdy and heavy, minor chip at the base as pictured.
• condition: very good overall for age; wear consistent with age and use; no evidence of wood-boring insects found.
• suggested display: excellent as a sculptural object, museum-style accent, or rustic focal point in period interiors.
